Heartfulness Earrings
Heartfulness Earrings
While I made these earrings I listened to a talk by Buddhist teacher Tara Brach. She was reflecting on the importance of cultivating a "heart that's ready for anything". I wondered, is my heart ready for anything? - and when the answer brought up fear rather than love, I knew I had some tending to do.
For the title of these earrings I returned to the beautiful teachings of mindfulness teacher Jon Kabat-Zinn who wrote:
"In many Asian languages, the word for "mind" and the word for "heart" is the same word. So when you hear the word "mindfulness," you have to hear the word "heartfulness" simultaneously to understand or feel what mindfulness really is."
Wear these earrings as a reminder to live from the heart. May you have the courage to cultivate a heart that's ready for anything. May each moment be a deepening into love.
