This Ancient Love - The Black Madonna Ring - Size 6.75

This ring is a part of my 'This Ancient Love' collection which is inspired by the words of a hymn by Carolyn McDade that speaks of the divine feminine. Here's the first verse: 
"Long before the night was born from darkness
Long before the dawn rolled unsteady from fire
Long before she wrapped her scarlet arms around the hills
there was a love

I named the creations in this collection after a specific goddess or an aspect of the divine feminine. This ring is named 'The Black Madonna'.  
"She is the God who definitively declares that Black women ... not only matter but are sacred. And, in doing so, She declares that all living beings are sacred. She is the God who smashes the white patriarchy and empowers us all to join in Her liberating work. She is the God who has a special love for the most marginalized because She too has known marginalization. She is the God who cherishes our humanity and welcomes our fears, vulnerabilities, and imperfections. Like a loving parent responding to a child's cry, She is the God who promises to come to our aid when we call out to Her, no questions asked. This ring is hand-fabricated using ancient silversmithing techniques in my home studio in Kitchener, Ontario. 
It fits a US size 6.75. 

It features a rose cut black onyx cabochon that measures 10mm long and 8mm wide. The stone is set in 18 karat gold. 
A rim of 10 karat gold encircles the face of the ring. 
The remaining details are carefully crafted out of sterling silver. 

The face of the ring is approximately 2cm x 1.6cm
The band is 5mm wide - double half round sterling silver.
