This Ancient Love - Shekinah Ring - Size 5.25
This ring is a part of my 'This Ancient Love' collection which is inspired by the words of a hymn by Carolyn McDade that speaks of the divine feminine. Here's the first verse:
"Long before the night was born from darkness
Long before the dawn rolled unsteady from fire
Long before she wrapped her scarlet arms around the hills
there was a love
this ancient love was born." - Carolyn McDade
I have named some of the rings in this collection after a specific goddess or an aspect of the divine feminine. This ring is named 'Shekinah' which is the Hebrew word for spirit and 'dwelling'. It is incredible that divine presence in ancient Hebrew is a feminine concept. To dwell with the divine is to dwell in this ancient love.
I also made this ring to evoke a connection to cosmic energy and to the expanding of the universe.
Wear this ring to be reminded of the ancient love from which all life came.
Wear this ring to remember that your life is held in this divine presence.
This ring is hand-fabricted using ancient silversmithing techniques in my home studio in Kitchener, Ontario.
It fits a US size 5.25.
It features a purple silk Ruby rose cut cabochon that is 9mm long and 7mm wide. The stone is set in fine silver.
10 karat gold surrounds the sublime stone.
The remaining details are carefully crafted out of sterling silver.
The upper part of the ring is 1.9cm x 1.6cm
The band is 6mm wide - made of 2 bands of 10 gauge half round sterling silver that I soldered together.
