I am pondering what it means to GROW. I would say that I value growth - a lot! It is usually at the heart of my life goals. What seems new is for me to ponder what it is I am growing into. I always thought that growth itself was the goal - like the journey being the destination. But now I wonder - is my growth resulting in a better me? Am I becoming my authentic self? Do we ever grow into fullness? I know I have experienced moments of feeling like I was in full-bloom. And then - the new shoots begin and I am down another branch that requires growth. I looked up the definition of GROW: 1 a: to spring up and develop to maturity. b: to be able to grow in some place or situation. What do you think it means to GROW?
This necklace is an invitation to commit to GROW.
I fabricated this necklace by hand in my metalsmithing studio. It is made fully of quality sterling silver.
It features so many elements - a main domed circular pendant with a leafy branch and stamped lines and dots. It is framed with a circle of droplet wire that hangs free just behind the dome.
The chain has two little charms hanging from one side - a glorious asymmetrical statement. The first is a tiny leaf with the word GROW stamped onto it. The other is a sea blue rose cut chalcedony cabochon. It is 6mm in diameter and I set it in a bezel setting.
The necklace is 20 inches long and closes with a handmade hook clasp. One inch of larger chain at the back means that the length can be adjusted to your liking.
The silver is lightly oxidized to create contrast and bring out the contours of the elements.
