Aurora Stud Earrings
These earrings are a part of my 'This Ancient Love' collection which is inspired by the words of a hymn by Carolyn McDade that speaks of the divine feminine. Here's the first verse:
"Long before the night was born from darkness
Long before the dawn rolled unsteady from fire
Long before she wrapped her scarlet arms around the hills
there was a love
this ancient love was born." - Carolyn McDade
I named the creations in this collection after a specific goddess or an aspect of the divine feminine. These earrings are named 'Aurora', the goddess of the dawn.
Aurora is the first to wake up in the morning. She is the goddess in charge of announcing the dawn by crossing the sky in her chariot. Every day she flies across the sky before the sun. A purple mist of stars unfolds behind her and she spreads flowers as she goes. Aurora symbolizes new beginnings and the opportunities that each new day offers. Each day begins with the beauty of her celebration.
Is the energy of Aurora calling to you?
What new beginning will she lead within you?
These post earrings are hand-fabricated using ancient silversmithing techniques in my home studio in Kitchener, Ontario.
They feature 4mm rose cut amethyst cabochons set in fine silver bezels.
A tiny dot of 10 karat gold adds a contrasting detail.
The posts and the base of the stone setting are carefully crafted out of sterling silver.
The earrings measure 7mm by 6mm.
